We enjoyed our annual spiritual life conference this past week. It was held in the beautiful Kenyan fields where the weather was cool, the grass was green and the city was far below us.
Words cannot describe the benefit of this conference for our team unity, spiritual development, and just rest and relaxation that is sometimes hard to find.
Here are some of our SLC highlights this year for our family.
The kids had a blast
Envision with us MK’s all together, playing, listening to stories and being able to participate in a VBS type program in the morning where they are deeply loved on. Most of the year these kids don’t experience Sunday school or any type of camp which makes this all the more fun. And then to make something great greater in the afternoons they play games with their “aunties and uncles” on the team who make them feel so included in afternoon fun.
We were challenged spiritually
Truly what an amazing time to have our scheduled conference. Last year the decision was made to move the conference to January and the Lord had his hand in this change. With our team having just evacuated it was providential to spend time together focusing on Who matters with those that shared our griefs. Our speaker was phenomenal and walked us through the life of Elijah which was so fitting in this season where we were feeling displaced and confused by what God is doing. We had a fabulous team come lead worship from Tenessee and just the simple act of singing songs in my heart language was such a powerful reminder of the God we serve.
Laughter and tears shared with our teammates
In a season and profession where emotions and stress runs high it is truly a gift to have “down time” with co-workers and friends.
Its looks so much fun and I missed this kind of thing with the family international before. Hope I can do it again. Thanks for reminisce me it. God Bless!
