Care Packages

Questions? Just send us an email

It was an especially hot day, J– was gone on a business trip and I had one of those no good, terrible awful days. The kids were in bed (finally!) and I decided to cheer myself up with a treat. I opened our food stash for some fruit to find a package of freeze dried fruit that had been mailed to us – on it was written scripture…it was exactly what my soul needed to keep going. Words cannot express the ways your thoughtfulness blesses us when we need to be encouraged. Thank you. Please read the bottom of this post if you want to send a financial gift

SIM-Sudan

Attn: J and Abuk Cross

PO Box 79252

00200 City Square, Nairobi, Kenya.

Flat rate boxes are our recommendation for shipping they help alot with shipping charges! PLEASE PLACE “garage sale” prices on the customs form and do not include any type of packaging slip from a company or we will be charged an arm and a leg to get it out of customs. Much thanks!

Ideas for the kids:

Right now they are most excited about Adventures in Odyssey 🙂 If you send $ to the address below (stateside) with a note that says kids odyssey we can order an MP3 for them online to listen to right here and let them know who its from. An album is around $17 and one episode is $1.99.

They love legos or creative craft projects

Any type of reading book for the girls (They are reading at a 5th grade level so anything goes!).

Small portable toys. Felt food, legos. Holiday craft projects are very fun. Favorite games that are age appropriate or family appropriate are a huge hit (and things we play with teammates and local friends!) For boys any thing non army print, crafts that are boy/ age appropriate puzzles under 50 pieces, legos, or costumes (for the boys).

Ideas for J–:

Zebra 301 fine tip pens (seriously this is all he keeps asking for!)

Ideas for Abuk

Gift cards for kindle books

Anything ginger flavored from trader joes

CARDS!

Baby gifts

Our biggest need right now is money to put toward clothes for the wee little one. We can get alot of things here in the open air market. Money can also be used to help us with meals once the baby arrives as we transition. The best to help with these is to mail a check to the below address marked “baby”. This will allow us to buy things in Kenya for the baby from you!

A note on personal financial gifts:

If you would like to send us a monetary gift that is personal (ie a gift and not for ministry) DO NOT MAIL IT TO US AT OUR OVERSEAS ADDRESS PLEASE! Personal Gifts should be mailed to:

J– and Abuk

c/o Greenfield

20734 SE 335th

Auburn, WA 98092

Any gifts mailed here will be for our personal or gift use and will not be tax deductible but appreciated. Thanks!

Any gifts for our ministry should be made through our organization.

We seek to empower our children, our teammates and our Sudanese friends to love and know more of who God is through acts of loving service and biblical teaching.

Just looking through your web site and looking at the videos. Very moving.
I found a sthethescope for you to have. I knew it was somewhere around here. I will try to drop it by. Does sometime Tuesday work?

Thinking about you guys soon to be leaving, wanting to get more background and insight to know better how to pray, I just finished reading a book called, ‘What is the What?’ following the life of a ‘Lost Boy’ at the outbreak of the civil war as a young boy and his life into adulthood. It was historically very educational and gave so much insight into the background of the culture. Will be praying for you guys especially this week, and in the ones to come!

We haven’t had any problems so I wouldn’t worry about ensuring them

We would like to send a package but would like to know if it is a good idea to insure it.
