It was an especially hot day, J– was gone on a business trip and I had one of those no good, terrible awful days. The kids were in bed (finally!) and I decided to cheer myself up with a treat. I opened our food stash for some fruit to find a package of freeze dried fruit that had been mailed to us – on it was written scripture…it was exactly what my soul needed to keep going. Right now they are most excited about Adventures in Odyssey 🙂 If you send $ to the address below (stateside) with a note that says kids odyssey we can order an MP3 for them online to listen to right here and let them know who its from. An album is around $17 and one episode is $1.99.

Small portable toys. Felt food, legos. Holiday craft projects are very fun. Favorite games that are age appropriate or family appropriate are a huge hit (and things we play with teammates and local friends!) For boys any thing non army print, crafts that are boy/ age appropriate puzzles under 50 pieces, legos, or costumes (for the boys).

Thinking about you guys soon to be leaving, wanting to get more background and insight to know better how to pray, I just finished reading a book called, ‘What is the What?’ following the life of a ‘Lost Boy’ at the outbreak of the civil war as a young boy and his life into adulthood. It was historically very educational and gave so much insight into the background of the culture. Will be praying for you guys especially this week, and in the ones to come!
