One of the reasons we are so excited to join the our organizationfamily is the way they help us be prepared for our new area of service. Over the course of the next year there are several things we will be doing to make sure that we can be the most effective in our service to the Southern Sudanese church and community. Our checklist of things we will complete before leaving forSouth Sudan include:

SIMCO 2 Week training– Completed July 2011-
Teaching on mission strategies, safety procedures and missionary health
- Third Culture kids educational Seminar -Scheduled May 2012-
Training us how to home school our kids overseas
- Field Medicine Training -Scheduled July 2012-
Training for A- to be able to be able to do simple medical procedures when no medical professional is available. (2 week course)
- Bible Classes through Gordon Conwell Seminary -Throughout the year 2011 and 2012-
SIM requires all its members to have a minor in Bible. J- will be completing his classes over this next year via a special missionary program through GC
- MTI -Scheduled January 2013 or sooner-
Two weeks of training for missionaries and kids on overseas service and preparations and two weeks in language acquisition when there is no school for language learning.
