Where will you be living?

We thought it would be fun to share with you some of the most frequent questions or our favorite questions asked at our open houses here on our website for those of you who live too far away to attend an open house in person.

Where will you be living?

When on the field we are planning on living either in a hut called a Tukul (pictured above) or a cinderblock housing unit (less likely). We will be bringing in solar panels to enable us to charge communication devices such as laptops and satellite phones. We will be having the kids sleep in small backpacking tents to protect them from some of the more harmful bedfellows of the region.

Thanks for sharing, A-! It is hard to believe only a few short months really until you leave! Will you have to build your tukul when you arrive?

No we will not. There are some at Doro that we will adopt. I don’t think my skills are quite adept enough to build a Tukul (Jon’s on the other hand…)

So love seeing this pic…and realizing the reality of living quarters you’ll soon be living in. What a change it will be from the comforts of WA. So very proud of all of you for being obedient to God’s calling.

    Love You!

    Juli
