J’s in South Sudan, Six month Visas! And no house!

Lot’s to celebrate today. J is in Malakal South Sudan after a rather uneventful (for this continent) journey involving lots of different airports and planes. He is hoping to catch a ride into Melut tomorrow or the next day via car. We praise God for his safe travels. We are also rejoicing that several on our team were able to acquire six month visas for South Sudan in Uganda which saves considerable time and money from monthly visas. We are hoping to send the kids and my visas in on Wed! We are so grateful for this opportunity! J was hoping to be in Melut at the same time as the large Buffalo (cargo plane) containing the house and building materials so he could start building. While he was on the second leg of his trip (on a WFP world food program flight that had room for him) we learned that the large Cargo plane containing 7tons of building materials and household items for various projects would not be departing in two days as planned. They are having engine troubles and are in for maintenance.

We were sharing that one of the big “mountains” God has moved for us was this buffalo providing a way to get our house and household items in country. Today I was reading in Exodus where Moses is entreating Pharoah to “let God’s people go” and the many seemingly setbacks he encountered and the Israelite faced when their plans to leave were quickly changed. I was praying for the buffalo and reading Exodus and amazed that what seemed a set-back God orchestrated so an entire Egyptian nation could look and say, “God is God”.

The logistics team is hard at work trying to come up with a great plan b to move 7 tons of bulky cargo in country and while it may feel like a set-back God is God. He could have “moved mountains” and had the engine running when we needed to, but He chose not to. And you know what there is great peace in that because we know that He is God, He is working and this is His cargo, His people, His projects.

So J in south Sudan and the kids and I are in Nairobi eagerly awaiting the next plan, the next way that we will see God’s hand moving and working so all can say, God is God.

—————-

Pray for J to be sensitive to why God has him in South Sudan at this time that he will be a blessing to others as he awaits our home. Pray for logistics as they work overtime to try and formulate a way for the cargo to get in country. Pray that God will be glorified.

Can’t wait to hear more about how the Lord orchestrates all the parts and pieces of His plan. May you all rest in peace in knowing He is All Knowing.
