Puzzle piece one a house…

melut puzzle pieces

We asked that God would move mountains and make the direction for our family very clear to all involved and we wanted to document some of the ways he has been doing that. The first puzzle piece for us was housing. We had housing all aligned for language school. There was no housing for us in South Sudan but we had a year to work on that so it wasn’t an issue…yet. Enter the swift change of plans and housing became the major issue.

During the dialogue that followed the amazing logistics, personnel and project team (and they are amazing) articulated that while they believed South Sudan was the best place for us they saw no way to get housing there before elections. That God would have to move some major obstacles because logistically there was no way.

There are two things at this point that have become very clear, “this is of God” moments for us…

The first is that J– is capable of building a house for us, which eliminates the need to hire additional labor

The second provision is the pre-fab house itself. It takes over a month to have one ready to go, but one had been ordered for another project that was then not needed and was ready for transport into the country. I am going to directly quote communication from our project manager in regards to this provision:

“We are grateful to God for the miraculous provision of a 3 room prefab ready for delivery, which has made this plan possible.”

Thank you for your prayers we are anticipating more miraculous provisions in the coming months as we prepare to move. There are no surprises for God.

Please continue to pray through scripture with us as we prepare this month the many details of moving.

    Hi Amie,

That is so wonderful! Thanks for sharing all of your praises as well as challenges. It’s incredible to hear how God is working in your lives.

Could you share a bit about your house? What will it be like? Like a mobile home? We’d love to know more, and of course, lots of pictures while you’re building!

No pictures yet but we will show you as it is being built in the coming months. A pre-fab is basically a “snap together house” with a tin roof. Ours will have three small rooms and will be placed on a large cement slab.
