For some reason out of all the items we are selling before we leave the hardest thing for me to let go of is toys, not mine but the kids. I (A-) didn’t realize how much sentimental value I have placed on these items because they have been loved (however briefly) at some point by my children. It has been quite the internal struggle for me to release these items up, the kids are more willing then I am. I know my memories of their childhood is not tied to their possessions but it is odd to say goodbye to something that so quickly reminds me of a moment in their lives.<\/p>\n

Today God gave me eyes to see the kids playing in a new way. They played quite happily for hours with a few blocks, cars, a books and paper. That is it. These simple items kept their imaginations working and their voices laughing and God used it to help me let go of the items we need to in order to make the move ahead of us. A simple reminder that once again I have allowed possessions to hold a spot in my heart that is reserved for God and that who we are is not tied down by things.
