This was one of my favorite Easters. I really missed Family, and many of the traditions of an Easter service that I am used to but what a fabulous day to reflect on our Savior. We are busy here learning language and living life but I yearned for our kids to have a sense of the importance of the holiday so amidst sickness, lack of sleep and helping our teammates move we had our best Easter because of it’s simplicity. Hope you simply enjoyed reflecting upon our risen Lord as well! The highlight of our day we don’t have a photo of but 8 people accepted Christ in church this morning (Praise God!) Here is what Holy Week looked like for our family\u00a0in Melut, South Sudan. What are your favorite simple easter rhythms?<\/p>\n

Flower-girl made this to hang in our window to remind us of what we have been given in Christ. We made the paint out of powdered food dye.<\/p>\n

For Holy week we decorated paper easter eggs since real eggs you cannot find here.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

We did our hair up “special” with our Sudanese friends<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

 <\/p>\n

We made Resurrection cookies the night before Easter. Here we are remember that He was beaten for our transgressions<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Flower-girl helps me whip powdered egg and gelatin into the cookies that remind us that He is Alive!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

We decorated paper eggs and then filled them with the Easter Story<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Flower-girl loved “directing” the resurrection egg activity…and finding surprises in hers!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Flower-girl watched each erson open there egg and then quickly carried the object around the circle for show and tell.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Auntie Claire read the bible verses in each egg that corresponded with the items we took out<\/dd>\n<\/dl>\n

The only candy that made it’s appearance this easter were some lollipops I found at the market. We each enjoyed one.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
