10-on-10 for January 2017

I am thankful for my sweet friend Tija who encourages me to do things that feed my soul, like taking photos. Today, amidst one of the busiest seasons I can remember in quite some time I decided to participate in one of my favorite photo exercises. 10-on-10. The goal (I think) is to take 10 photos spread throughout the day. To capture a “day in the life” of sorts on the 10th of each month. I have tried doing this in the past…though not too successfully but with a new year comes a renewed desire and so I begin again. I am not limiting myself to ten photos and they are not necessarily spread equally throughout the day but they are beautiful moments in this amazing life I’ve been given…

It was the perfect day to do this, the abnormal that makes our life so very normal mixed with alot of busy which made the stopping to capture and see beautiful moments in my family all the more redemptive.

I awoke to this sweet boy reading on the couch while waiting for breakfast…

Pre-breakfast cuddling on the couch with sister…the footsie pajamas that are way too small and the toes peeking through make this shot for me.
My five year old was “zooming” his potato head through the air after breakfast..while standing on the table. The sweet noises and creative expressions were the perfect start to the morning.
Instead of cleaning up breakfast dishes I made a batch of chicken veggie soup for a teammate who was under the weather…here it is simmering away on the stove as the kids got out a puzzle…
While responding to a slew of emails today the children created maps for each other a treasure hunt.
No trousers on…just her diaper and her bare leg peeking out of the sleepsack this girl softly bounced herself while cooing at her siblings while mom worked from home…
The perfect way toward a hands free work morning…keys and an trampoline…and the sweetest little baby around…
…on the road. Dropping meals off for teammates arriving from out of town and a few treats for folks we are visiting…
One of our stops was visiting some dear friends…here is E. sporting her crazy long hair and throwing smiles all over the table as we chatted…
Four hours later we are still running errands preparing for our SLC and delivering things to friends. These kids are such amazing troopers. PJ is buckling in her siblings, W-man happily reading while flower girl loads hops in..
Back home again and after lunch this beauty takes to coloring and journaling while her younger siblings take a quiet time.
This one listening to his book on tape and playing with his flashlight during nap…
During book on tape Flower girl wrote another story. This girl loves to write!
Being a bit distracted I forgot a cup for the baby…we are all pretty proud of her ability to use a straw to get her fluids on the go…extra cute since her body is the size of the water bottle…
My dear children had to “run errands” with me for most of the day. They waited to eat lunch oh so patiently until 2pm…so after naps we decided to go out for a treat of frozen yogurt…E was a huge fan…
This sweet one all tucked into her moshi net for bed…how I love her sweet smiles before she closes her eyes…
The kids enjoying a “wild Kratts before bed…
Did I mention this was a bit of a busy season. My husband caught me typing emails to end my day…but there is even beauty in the quietness to the end of a day isn’t there?
